Scope and Contents
Nathaniel Dever (also spelled Deaver) was of French descent and came to Buncombe County, NC, probably in the 1790s. The family later migrated to Illinois and then Missouri, where Nathaniel died. His three daughters returned to North Carolina with their uncle, William, while their mother remarried and moved with her two sons to Texas. One of the daughters who returned to North Carolina married Abraham Wiggins, while another daughter married T.J. Cooper. Both these families settled in Graham...

The one item in this collection is a photocopy of a bill of sale for a farm sold by Jeremiah Wardrep to William Burton Wiggins, both of Cherokee County, NC. The statement describes the location of the farm, terms of the sale, and is dated July 20, 1885.
