Scope and Contents Ezekial Brown was the son of Walter Brown, a native Englishman who settled with his family in Hall County, GA. Ezekial came to Haywood County, NC, in 1822. Ezekial's son John settled in nearby Jackson County. Most of the materials in this collection are records of Ezekial and John Brown's land transactions in the latter two counties, especially in the Scotts Creek area.
