Content Description This collection contains reports prepared by J. Dan Pittillo, biology professor at Western Carolina University, associates, and students. These consist of natural history profiles of selected areas of western North Carolina and the Appalachian Mountains, prepared for the National Park Service and the Highlands Biological Station (Highlands, NC). The reports profile physiography, history, vegetation, and present and future uses.
