Willis King (1908- ) was born May 24, 1908, in Fayette County, OH. He attended Wilmington College (Ohio), and received his B.S. in Education in 1929; an M.A. in Biology from Haverford College (PA), in 1930; and a Ph. D. in Zoology from the University of Cincinnati, in 1939. King was the first wildlife technician for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, from 1934-1940, and conducted original field studies in the Park.
