Craig / Nichols Collection. Description: forty-six photographs, featuring among other subjects Lula Craig and Dr. Nichols of Sylva, North Carolina, and two views of the Almond High School. Also included are two graduation programs for the Almond High School, Almond, North Carolina, dated 1922 and 1925; a 1923 graduation program for the I.O.O.F. High School; and a graduation program for Norview High School.
The collection concerns the Davis-Smith Jewelers of Waynesville, North Carolina. Included in the collection are the certificate of incorporation (dated June 12, 1946), a book of shares, partial financial records, and three photographs.

The first addition to this collection includes three ledgers of Dr. Daisy Zachary McGuire.
The second addition includes five books belonging to Dr. Daisy McGuire.
These photographs were taken by Edgar S. Purdom. Born in 1900, Purdom opened a custom furniture shop in Wayah Valley, near Franklin, NC, in 1946. He was a hobby photographer and made these photographs in Western North Carolina. There are 56 photographs in the series. Purdom retired in 1968 and passed away in Lake County, Florida in 1987.
This collection contains materials of the Higdon Family Association, including scrapbooks, newsletters, membership lists, and related material. The Higdon Family Association is an organization dedicated to studying Higdon family genealogy, along with related family genealogy. The group was founded in 1975 in Franklin, N.C.
