Content Description

The collection concerns the William Wilson family of Cullowhee Valley in Jackson County, N.C. Items include payment receipts from an 1836 Cherokee land sale, tax receipts, promissory notes, a land survey (possibly of the Cullowhee Valley), an obituary of Mrs. Margaret Wilson, and an article about the resignation of John Nelson Wilson as Bursar at Cullowhee State Normal School.

The addition to the collection consists of a deed from the State of North Carolina to William Wilson (1859), deed from William Wilson to Sherlie Wilson (1910), survey of the Sherlie Wilson estate (1948), and a group photographs including John Wilson.
