John Moore Crawford (1829-1933) was a descendant of George W. Crawford, Sr., the latter being the progenitor of Crawfords in Haywood, Macon, Clay and Cherokee Counties, NC. George W. Crawford, Jr., and Lorena Moore were the parents of John Crawford. The genealogy of the Crawford family may be found in incomplete form in W.C. The collection consists of five items of correspondence, ranging in dates from 1883-1932, all letters to John Moore Crawford. Of note, one letter from Margaret McGuire, dated February 4, 1932, requests information about James Moore Crawford's brother-in-law and an organizer of the Ku Klux Klan. Also of note is a letter dated October 2, 1930, inviting Crawford to an anniversary celebration of the Battle of King's Mountain.

Items of a legal nature include five marriage licenses issued in Haywood County, NC, with inclusive dates 1812-1816.
