The North Carolina American Revolution Bicentennial Commission was established in 1967 by act of the North Carolina General Assembly. The Commission was to develop and conduct plans and programs commemorating the bicentennial of the American Revolution, and to make better known the major and leading role played by North Carolina in the American Revolution. The collection contains correspondence of the Commission with John Bell, the Commission representative at Western Carolina University; articles and pamphlets on the American Revolution; and the Bicentennial Times newspaper, a publication of the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration.
