Felix E. Alley (1873-1958) served as judge of the North Carolina Superior Court for the 20th District (1933 - 1948).
Alley was born July 5, 1873, in Cashiers, NC, the youngest of ten children. He attended Cullowhee High School, Cullowhee, NC, and later acted as the school's legal counselor. Prior to his appointment as judge, he taught school in Qualla, NC, served as clerk of superior court in Jackson County, NC, and served in the North Carolina House of Representatives (1905). He published two books, Random Thoughts and Musings of a Mountaineer and What Think Ye of Christ?. The collection contains a fact sheet of his life; correspondence; and a notebook of trial case briefs.
