Papers of C.W. Slagle of Macon County, North Carolina, and the related Siler family. The collection includes correspondence, contracts and agreements with C.W. Slagle, surveys and accompanying correspondence and notes, financial records and receipts, letters of W.O. Wolfe to C.W. Slagle (1909) and sketch of monument, correspondence with the Alcoa company (primarily 1913-1918) and W.M. Ritter Lumber Company (primarily 1907 – 1916), a bound account ledger (primarily 1838 – 1868), a bound survey ledger, a survey Field Book (1827). Also included are papers of Jacob Siler and D.W. Siler, including correspondence, bills and receipts, and materials on Cherokee Lands.
